Document of Identity

Sixteen-year-old Galit was born in Israel and lives with her parents, migrant workers from Ghana, in south Tel Aviv. Adolescence, uncertainty and life under the constant threat of deportation from the only country she has ever known reveal a brave girl fighting for identity, belonging and a future.

First Prize in the Student Competition at Docaviv 2010. The jury wrote that the film “manages to sweep us into the emotional world of its characters, to identify with their pain and to marvel at their strength in fighting for their rights.”
