In 2015 Syria, Kurdish women fighters continue their battle against ISIS. As a French journalist investigates the elusive figure of Shamaran, the story intensifies, blending thriller, espionage, and family drama with a focus on female characters—fighters, victims, and perpetrators.

In Texas, Ellie, a young teacher, hears her ex-lover’s voice in an ISIS video, triggering a personal journey. In Syria, Anna (Shamaran) rescues a teenage slave, Nisrine, and they flee jihadist pursuers. Meanwhile, Sarya, now leading her YPJ unit, faces tough choices without Shamaran. Other characters, like Nasser, an undercover agent in ISIS, and Max, a war reporter, deepen the narrative of moral conflict and personal stakes.

This second season, free of flashbacks, embraces the irreversible paths of its characters—whether radicalized, resisting, or spying.
