JEW IN AMERICA
A TV SEIRES BY NAFTALY GLIKSBERG
Anti-Semitism in the United States today is a widespread phenomenon that troubles us all, but it turns out that its roots go back in time. The Leo Frank affair is one of the first and most prominent cases that became a symbol of hatred for Jews. Frank, a Jew who managed a pencil factory in Marietta, a suburb of Atlanta, is a painful example. Frank was accused of raping and murdering a young Christian girl named Mary Fagan. Despite questionable evidence and a biased trial, he was convicted and became a victim of entrenched anti-Semitism, a case that shook the United States and highlighted the depth of prejudice at the time. “A Jew in America: A Torn Identity”
