The events in October 7th presented Israeli society with the most difficult challenge it has ever known: the choice between the values of mutual guarantee and the refusal to surrender to terrorism. Meanwhile, the captives are left alone to face their fate.

 

With unimaginable timing, the viewers embark on a shocking journey spanning five decades, to past events in which Israelis were captured and kidnapped and to the behind the scenes of negotiations conducted by Israel with the terrorist organizations. At the center of each episode are a case of a prisoner deal and the attempts of the negotiation teams, the leadership and the families of the captives and abductees to bring it to fruition. The brutal dilemmas of the past deals echo the historic kidnapping event we are currently in the midst of, and give the viewer a deep understanding of the events and processes that brought us here.
