Amal is a realist drama inspired by true events and created through a unique Arab-Jewish collaboration.

Amal has always had a particular soft spot for her son, Samer, turning a blind eye when he ignites a violent feud between rival clans in their village. After Samer is arrested by the police, Amal defies her husband and arranges for him to be placed under house arrest in a nearby Jewish community, at the home of their employers.

But Samer’s loyalty to his friends back in the village draws him once again into the escalating violence, which threatens to spiral out of control and engulf the entire region.

Determined to save her son from his fate, Amal embarks on the fight of her life, seeking to broker a new sulha—a traditional reconciliation agreement—and restore peace to the village. But fate proves stronger than she is, and Amal herself is ultimately pulled into the cycle of bloodshed.
